Green Parents' List seeks nominations of Green Baby Shower Gifts
OTTAWA, Canada - 08 January 2010 - Green Parents' List (www.greenparentslist.com) is accepting nominations of exciting and green baby shower gifts for the Top Ten Green Baby Shower Gifts of 2010. Toys, gear, nursery furnishings, and bath & skin care products for babies and moms that meet the Green Parents' List criteria are eligible for nomination in the contest. Successful nominees will receive the Green Parents' List Check Mark and be featured on www.greenparentslist.com. Nominations will be selected based on green-appeal, kid/parent-appeal and innovation. The nomination period is open until February 5, 2010.
Green Parents' List works with companies to provide consumers with access to a list of products for babies and children that meet requirements for restricted materials and substances. Children's and babies' toys and gear listed at www.greenparentslist.com have been checked against the US CPSIA requirements for restricted materials: lead (Pb), phthalates and soluble heavy metals. Products awarded the Bath & Skin Care Check Mark have been checked for 1,4 dioxane and Formaldehyde content, as well as at least one additional Green claim. Home interior products awarded the Healthy Home Check Mark have been checked against LEED requirements, volatile organic compound (VOC) restrictions, lead (Pb) content restrictions, as applicable, and additional green claims.
The Green Parents' List Check Mark provides consumers with a quickly identifiable reference that the manufacturer of the product has gone to the effort of manufacturing a greener product. By providing independent verification, Green Parents' List offers concerned parents and responsible sellers of children's products the opportunity to connect.
The top 10 products selected from the nominees will receive:
- Press release to consumers and media announcing the top 10 green baby shower gift selections.
- Featured product status on the website and in the Green Parents' List newsletter.
- Exposure in press/media appearances conducted for a period of one (1) year.
The contest is open to all manufacturers, importers and distributors of products for babies and moms. To nominate a product for inclusion in the Green Parents' List Top 10 Green Baby Shower Gifts, please submit an e-mail with:
- Contact information and "relationship" to the product (i.e. manufacturer, importer, distributor, etc.)
- The name of the producer of the product being nominated
- The name of the product
- A description of the product (200 words, max)
- A summary of the product's green-appeal, parent-appeal and innovation
- Up to 3 photos of your product and/or its application
