About the Check Mark - Toys & Gear

Checked by parents for parents and, most importantly, for children.

GPL Check Mark

The Green Parents' List Check Mark for Toys & Gear applies to "children's products," meaning consumer products designed or intended primarily for children 12 years of age or younger. This definition encompasses a very wide range of products including toys, bedding, pacifiers, strollers, and chairs to name just a few.

The Green Parents' List Check Mark™ for Toys & Gear is awarded to children's products that have been checked against the material restriction requirements mandated by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).

How do we know that a product meets the specific material restriction requirements? At Green Parents' List, product test reports are checked by parents with the scientific education to interpret the results. Our review process verifies:

  • Mandatory third-party testing has been performed by a CPSIA accredited laboratory
  • Test reports meet the CPSIA restricted substance thresholds at the time of review
  • The declaration of compliance to CPSIA and to specific CPSIA material requirements has been provided by the manufacturer.

GPL Check Mark

Green Parents' List also offers a Plus Check Mark that indicates that Green Parents' List has reviewed the evidence to support Green claims made by the manufacturer that extend beyond the CPSIA restricted material requirements.

At Green Parents' List, we take our job very seriously so that you, the consumer, can easily identify products that come from manufacturers who care.
